FreeRide opens its doors

FreeRide Media launched its free Internet access service on Wednesday with sponsors including Oreo cookies, Kodak film, Duracell batteries and Hefty trash bags. FreeRide subscribers earn points for visiting sponsor Web sites and for purchasing sponsor products and sending in proofs of purchase. FreeRide claims to have more than 90,000 enrollees in the program, but only a few Internet service providers have signed on to accept FreeRide points.
