FreeWebStuff, with service on hold, seeks sale or partnership

Published on .

FreeWebStuff.com, which pays Web users to surf in return for seeing targeted ads, said it wants to either sell the company or enter a partnership with a Web security company. FreeWebStuff launched June 5, but said it recently put the service "on hold for implementation of service enhancements and added security." The company said it had determined "a large percentage" of its users were "abusing our service in one way or another," such as by signing up for multiple memberships.
