The announcement comes as the company celebrates the secondanniversary of its huge Cora Dong Ngai superstore, a jointventure with Dong Nai International Trade and Services Co.
Cora Dong Nai, located 30 kilometers outside Ho Chi Minh City,gave Vietnam its first taste of out-of-town supermarketretailing when it opened in 1998, inciting massive consumerand media interest.
Deputy Director General Bertrand Chevallier said Cora DongNgai currently receives between 45,000 to 47,000 shopperseach week.
Based on these figures, the company has decided that nowis the right time to forge ahead with the development oftwo more stores in outlying areas of Ho Chi Minh City.
Bourbon is not the only retail chain to have shown renewedinterest in Vietnam in recent weeks. Last week Germancash-and-carry giant Metro revealed plans to enter theVietnamese market in 2001.
