Buyer Seeks to Bolster Loyalty-Marketing Offerings

CHICAGO (AdAge.com) -- Frequency Marketing, a Cincinnati-based company that specializes in developing and managing loyalty-marketing programs for Fortune 500 companies, was acquired by Alliance Data Systems, Dallas.

The acquisition expands the loyalty-marketing offerings of Alliance Data Systems, which helps North American companies manage customer interactions by providing transaction and credit services.

The company also operates Air Miles, a leading coalition loyalty program in Canada.

Frequency Marketing, a 20-year-old company, will operate as a separate unit within Alliance Data Systems and will continue to be run by founder and CEO Richard Barlow.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
