Cadbury Schweppes' Mott's division, Stamford, Conn., said that on May 3 it will extend the Fruitsations applesauce brand into candy, a completely new category for the company. Mott's said it will test Mott's Fruitsations Soft & Chewy Two-Fruit Candies in Chicago; Detroit and Grand Rapids, Mich.; Indianapolis; and Milwaukee and Madison, Wis., as well as nationally in Wal-Mart Stores. A free-standing insert will drop in July, although further ad details weren't available at deadline. Griffin Bacal, New York, is Fruitsations' agency.
