FTC survey raps kids' Web sites

A Federal Trade Commission online marketing survey, released today, found 86% of children's Web sites examined were collecting personally identifiable information from kids, most without parents' permission or disclosure on how the information will be used. The FTC is to do a more comprehensive survey for Congress in March. Ad industry groups have urged members to have privacy disclosure policies in place by then.
