The Federal Trade Commission Feb. 24 unveiled proposed rules aimed at implementing a new financial privacy law. The rules could affect a broad range of companies that collect financial information from consumers. Available on the FTC Web site (ftc.gov), the rules contain a proposed definition for what is non-public personal information. The FTC is asking for comments. Marketing and business groups were studying the proposals today and had no immediate reaction.
