Since Claude H. Grizzard Sr. started working full time at his father's Atlanta company in 1961, non-profit clients have come to represent about 60% of the direct group's business. Grizzard Communications Group helped the Salvation Army raise more than $175 million last year and handled the bulk of fund-raising for the American Red Cross. This week, Mr. Grizzard receives the Direct Marketing Association's Fund-Raising Achievement Award. "I take a lot of pride in the fact that we are working with the No. 1 and 2 [national] fund-raisers," Mr. Grizzard says.
