'Streamlining' at Publisher Continues

NEW YORK (AdAge.com) -- Continuing with a shake-up that began early this year, Gruner & Jahr USA Publishing today announced the departure of two top executives and the arrival of one new one.

Jan Studin, vice president and publisher of Hachette Filipacchi's Woman's Day, was named vice president and publisher for G&J's Parents Group, with oversight of the title Parents and its related brand extensions.

those moves, Sharon Summer, Parents Group president, is leaving the company, as is Parents Publisher Mary Jo Romeo.

Earlier this month, G&J shut down flagging shelter title Homestyle -- shortly after a memo from CEO Dan Brewster promised the new year would bring "streamlining" -- and its senior vice president of corporate sales, Ken Wallace, left the company as well, with his responsibilities assumed by Chief Marketing Officer Cindy Spengler.

Ms. Studin will report directly to Mr. Brewster.
