Gruner & Jahr USA Publishing announced several personnel moves at its Business Information unit. Gary Mirkin, publisher of Inc., will replace Fast Company's Julian Lowin, who resigned. Mr. Mirkin's replacement at Inc. will be Lee Jones, formerly publisher of Ziff Davis' Smart Business for the New Economy; he also previously was publisher and group publisher of Entrepreneur, the small business title G&J has been rumored to be interested in purchasing. Steve Thompson, formerly the publisher of The Industry Standard, will join G&J in the newly created position of VP-Western Region, Business Information Group.
