(July 17, 2001) -- Minneapolis-based shops Gabriel Diericks Radizlo and Kaleidoscope have merged to create Gabriel deGrood Bendt.

Tom Gabriel, 48, president and creative director at Gabriel Diericks, will be CEO and creative director of the new agency.

Kaleidoscope's founder and executive vice president, Jim Bendt, 31, will become president and partner of Gabriel deGrood Bendt. Also, Doug deGrood, 36, becomes creative director and partner from associate creative director at Gabriel Diericks.

Marianne Diericks, 48, general manager of Gabriel Diericks, is leaving the agency to pursue other interests, and Mark Radizlo, 41, chief financial officer of Gabriel Diericks, will take on a new role working directly with clients under a title to be later named. -- Kate MacArthur
