TOUGH LOVE: A provocative Italian spot for Superga sneakers, entitled "L'Esame," depicts a young man in an austere classroom called to the front of the room to deliver an oral exam. His uptight teacher, noticing his sneakers, slaps him across the face, and a drop of blood is seen spilling onto his white shoes. Later, a young man is seen in bed with a female teacher who witnessed the incident. At the foot of the bed lies a pair of Superga sneakers, stained with a single drop of blood. Pirella Gottsche Lowe, Turin, handles the spot, themed "Superga. Si Odio. Si Ama" or "Superga. Hate 'em. Love 'em." Creative director is Roberto Pizzigoni.
