Gaming via computer

Casino-style gambling via computer is getting closer. Interactive Gaming & Communications Corp., Blue Bell, Pa., said today that it will begin beta-testing of the Global Casino on the Internet. The live version, to include all casino games with real monetary wagering, is expected to be released by the end of the month. And Global Games Corp., announcing the acquisition of International Gaming Resorts, said it will begin operations of a virtual reality casino on the Internet by next February from its headquarters in the Caribbean. Global said one analyst has predicted that online betting could be a $10 billion a year industry by the year 2000.
