Gareth Chang resigns as CEO of News Corp's Star TV network

HONG KONG--Gareth Chang has unexpectedly resigned as executivechairman-CEO of Rupert Murdoch's Star TV network "to explore other business opportunities," according to a company statement.

Mr. Chang, who joined Star TV network in Hong Kong in September 1998, has also resigned from News Corp.'s board of directors and its executive committee.

News Corp. Co-Chief Operating Officer Chase Carey and Exec VP James Murdoch have been appointed interim co-chairmen of Star TV, while BruceChurchill, Star TV's deputy CEO-chief operating officer, will assume day-to-day operational responsibility at Star TV, reporting to Mr. Carey and News Corp. Chairman-Chief Executive Rupert Murdoch.
