Gateway CEO Jeff Weitzen and Chief Financial Officer John Todd have resigned, triggering a management shake-up at the San Diego-based computer company. Joe Burke will take the CFO post. Gateway founder and Chairman Ted Waitt will assume the CEO post amid disappointing earnings and a tough climate for computer makers particularly in the consumer market, Gateway's stronghold. Mr. Weitzen, a former AT&T Corp. executive, was largely responsible for creating product and service bundles, the "YourWare" program and expansion of the Gateway Country Store concept. The Interpublic Group of Cos.' McCann-Erickson Worldwide, New York, handles Gateway's estimated $125 million ad account.
