Gateway, San Diego, launches a multimillion-dollar brand advertising campaign Aug. 24 that will tout the PC marketer's philosophy of putting people before technology. Spending figures were not disclosed. The "People Rule'' campaign, by McCann-Erickson Worldwide, New York, will put forward the idea that technology is beneficial only if helps people in their daily lives. Media, running through the end of the year, will flood network, spot and cable TV. Newspapers and radio support. One TV spot, set in a Gateway Country store showroom, shows how small businesses can receive support and services they require from Gateway.
