Gaylord links to new arena

Published on .

Gaylord Entertainment Co., Nashville, Tenn., purchased naming rights to the Nashville Arena for $80 million over a 20-year period. The first-year fee is about $2 million, said Gaylord President-CEO Terry London. The building, home of the NHL's Nashville Predators, will be known as the Gaylord Entertainment Center. Gaylord has a 19% stake in the hockey team, but the sponsorship deal is separate from that. Nissan Motor Corp. USA also bid for the naming rights. The NHL awarded Nashville the franchise two years ago.
