General Magic opens Windows

General Magic, the Sunnyvale, Calif., software marketer allied with AT&T, on Monday released the beta version of its first PC communications application, Magic Cap for Windows. General Magic's earlier software has floundered in the personal-communicator market. But the company hopes the Windows version, officially set for release in 1996, will give it broader appeal.
