General Magic taps Y&R

General Magic, Sunnyvale, Calif., moved its $10 million to $15 million account to Y&R Advertising, San Francisco. The other finalist was FCB Worldwide; Saatchi & Saatchi previously handled. Y&R's first effort will center on myTalk, a free service providing e-mail and voice-mail over the Web and on the phone, targeted at teens and college students. In past six months, the Y&R office has picked up an estimated $80 million to $100 million with six dot-com clients.
