Netscape Communications Corp.
on Monday, as expected, introduced Netscape Navigator 2.0, an updated Internet browser that integrates a full suite of applications including secure E-mail, threaded discussion groups and advanced navigation capabilities. A public beta version can be downloaded next week from Netscape's home page. The Mountain View, Calif.-based company also introduced Netscape Navigator Gold 2.0, a next-generation software tool that enables users to navigate, create and edit live online documents. The software is available free to students and charitable non-profit organizations; individuals and commercial users can purchase supported, licensed copies from Netscape or from a reseller starting at $49, which includes a 90-day warranty.
