GeoCities Wednesday signed its 500,000th "homesteader" (consumer that creates a home page) and launched a small business channel called Eureka
. Eureka features Mita Copiers as an advertiser, and will likely also tap advertising from Federal Express and IBM Corp. In other news, Rich Rygg was named VP-general manager at GeoCities, from founder of Digital City, Los Angeles.
