(April 4, 2001) -- Regional energy provider Southern Company tapped Interpublic Group of Cos.' Fitzgerald+Co. and independent 360 Thinc, both Atlanta, to handle its advertising account, along with that of its subsidiary, Georgia Power. Billings for the combined business are estimated at $10 million to $12 million. Other contenders included WestWayne, Atlanta, and J. Walter Thompson. Fitzgerald+Co. will handle brand and media assignments for both accounts, while 360 Thinc will work on products and services marketing. -- Bonnie Tsui
