German energy marketer invites agencies for $25m booty

ESSEN--Energy marketer RWE here has invited incumbentFrankfurt-based Damm, Hamburg-based Springer & Jacoby andMcCann-Erickson Worldwide, Frankfurt, to pitch for its estimated $25 million Avanza energy account.

Following the liberalization of the energy market, some major players have merged and many have upped marketing investments to keep existing clients and attract new ones.

RWE's entire communications program -- except Avanza energy-- is handled by BBDO Worldwide, Duesseldorf.
