Girls entertainment company books deal with Scholastic

Girls multimedia entertainment company Purple Moon signed a deal with Scholastic to publish a line of books based on Purple Moon's preteen character Rockett and her pals, which are featured in CD-ROMs, merchandise and the entertainment company's site. This is the first time Scholastic has developed a book series based on interactive characters. The book series will launch in fall 1999.
