Glamour names Mary Berner

Published on .

Mary Berner is jumping from senior VP-publisher at TV Guide to become the new VP-publisher of Glamour, replacing Charles Townsend, who was promoted to exec VP of Conde Nast Publications. No replacement was named at TV Guide, which has enjoyed an ad resurgence under Ms. Berner over the past two years.

Through August this year, the title was up 2.1% in ad pages to 1,909. Glamour, long believed to be the most profitable magazine in the privately held Conde Nast, posted 1,060 ad pages through August, a 9.3% gain.
