Published on .

General Motors Corp. on Jan. 5 named Christopher "CJ" Fraleigh, 37, exec director of corporate advertising and marketing. Mr. Fraleigh, who starts Jan. 8, joins the automaker from PepsiCo, where he had been VP-marketing of colas after 11 years with the company. Mr. Fraleigh will report to John Middlebrook, VP and general manager of vehicle brand advertising and corporate advertising, and he fills the post vacated in May by Phil Guarascio.

Mike Browner, exec director of media and marketing operations, and Judy Hu, exec director of advertising operations, will report to Mr. Fraleigh. They had reported to Mr. Middlebrook.

GM denied several weeks ago it was interviewing a rising star for the position.
