General Motors Corp. and Champion Products will raise money for breast cancer research in connection with their WNBA sponsorship. GM said it expects to raise $250,000 for the cause via its Buick division. Buick will donate $1,000 to Concept:Cure in the name of a selected player from each televised WNBA game. Champion will donate an undisclosed percentage of sales of WNBA-licensed merchandise during the 1997 season starting June 21. Fans at WNBA home games will have a chance to win one of eight Buick Regals, the league's official vehicle. WNBA will produce and air breast cancer awareness PSAs during national broadcasts on Lifetime.
