GM EXTENDS ALLIANCE WITH MODEM MEDIA

(July 23, 2001) -- General Motors Corp. has extended its agreement with Modem Media, calling for the Norwalk, Conn.-based i-shop to develop a pan-European strategy for the company, called e-GME.

Modem, in which Interpublic Group of Cos. has a minority stake, has been working with GM for three years.

The appointment comes after a review which, according to Modem Media, included a total of seven companies. The business is being handled out of the company's London office. -- Catherine P. Taylor
