General Motors Corp. announced a nine year promotional partnership with FAO Schwarz at today's opening of General Motor's "GM on 5th" interactive showroom in New York. Pontiac-GMC will be the primary GM division to jointly promote with the toy retailer. GM will be the only car marketer to have in-store product displays and autos in FAO Schwarz catalogs to advertise car-related toys. The partnership will also encompass the creation of new GM toy products--including a remote control version of GMC's new 1998 Envoy luxury sport utility vehicle--and clothing with the "GM on 5th" logo.
