General Motors Corp. units ACDelco and GM Goodwrench Service will host a chat on Nov. 7 at 9 p.m. (ET) on their respective Web sites, http://www.acdelco.com
. The chat, featuring auto repair expert Mary Jackson, is targeted to women and auto novices. The effort is interesting for two reasons: It will show how much interest there is in visiting a marketer site for an online chat, and whether women will go online to participate. While online chats have been common on the commercial services, the Web is only now starting to adapt to chat. Only a few marketers, such as Ticketmaster Corp., have sponsored chats on their sites.
