GM to offer infotainment system

Published on .

General Motors Corp. said it will offer installed PC infotainment system as an option on 2001 Cadillac Seville and DeVille models. The Bose system with Infotainment will read e-mails to drivers while their cars are moving, or e-mails can be downloaded to a personal data assistant, like a Palm Pilot, to be read later. The system will also have online, CD-ROM and navigational capabilities. GM earlier had announced a voice-activated, Web-based e-mail system via its OnStar Division arriving by later this year.
