General Motors Corp.'s Buick Regal starts a co-promotion with American Airlines Dec. 1. Consumers who buy or lease a Regal sedan between Dec. 1 and March 31 will get 15,000 frequent-flyer miles under the airline's Advantage program. The deal will be publicized via American Airlines' Advantage member newsletter. Last year, Buick teamed with Northwest Airlines for Regal messages on in-flight pretzel bags. GM sold 54,119 Regals through October vs. 40,646 during the first 10 months of 1997.
