GM SHUFFLES GOLF SPONSORSHIPS

DETROIT (AdAge.com) -- General Motors Corp., Detroit, is shuffling several PGA golf sponsorships in the wake of its announcement last December to eliminate its Oldsmobile brand in a few years.

Starting next year, Buick will become the sponsor of the amateur Oldsmobile Scramble. Oldsmobile's sponsorship deals for the PGA Championship and Ryder Cup Matches shifts to Cadillac in 2002.

Buick plans to integrate golf great Tiger Woods, with whom it already has a deal, into its marketing plans for the Buick Scramble next year.

Interpublic Group of Cos.' McCann-Erickson, Troy, Mich., handles Buick. Bcom3 Group's D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, Troy, is the agency for Cadillac, while Bcom3's Leo Burnett Co., Chicago, handles Oldsmobile.
