GM starts car-shopping service

Published on .

General Motors Corp., looking to expand sales in California and the Pacific Northwest, is launching a new car-shopping service, GM BuyPower. Consumers in California, Washington, Oregon and Idaho can visit a Web site or call a staffed toll-free number (1-800-GMBUYPOWER) for vehicle information, competitive car pricing and GM dealer inventory. The Los Angeles office of D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles is handling a regional TV, print and Web banner ad campaign that is to break Oct. 15, when service begins.
