GM updates its site

Just seven months after launch, General Motors Corp. has expanded its Web site to include 38,400 pages, double the prior number, mostly because all 8,500 of GM's dealers now have a home page. Dealers will be able to update their pages themselves via a private satellite intranet. Also new: an investor information area. Coming Sept. 23: users can apply for loans online via the GMACC area, with a 48-hour response time. GM's new Cynerworks unit, its spunoff EDS subsidiary and its ad agencies all worked on the site.
