Go2Net buys online payment system for $90.5 mil

Go2Net, a network of financial and community Web sites, acquired Authorize.Net Corp., a company that supplies payment authorization services for online businesses. Go2Net will pay $90.5 million in stock and cash.

Go2Net said it would immediately integrate Authorize.Net's services into its HyperMart and Virtual Avenue business-hosting services, which include more than 360,000 small and midsize businesses.
