Times Mirror Magazines launches Golf Online Jan. 24 on the World Wide Web with celebrity sportsman Greg Norman hosting the launch. The site offers info on golf courses, resorts and a database with 100 golf tips and lessons. Ad banners cost $5,000 per month on the home page; $2,500 per month for major sections. The site's print counterpart may also look at the Web more: Golf is considering partnering with a search engine company to rate sites with golf content, according to Dominic Schmitt, a producer with Times Mirror Magazines.
