Omnicom agencies Goodby
, Silverstein & Partners and Ketchum Advertising, both San Francisco, square off this week for the consolidated long distance account of Southwestern Bell and its recently acquired Pacific Bell. Ketchum had won the Pacific Bell account prior to the merger of the two phone companies, while Goodby recently broke a $30 million branding effort for Southwestern Bell in its five-state region. Spending on the consolidated account could be as high as an estimated $80 million to $90 million. Goodby also handles branding for Pacific Bell, while Ketchum handles direct and several other pieces of Pacific Bell business.
