GOODBY, RINEY SHARE LIMELIGHT AT AWARD SHOW

SAN FRANCISCO- Goodby, Berlin & Silverstein and Hal Riney & Partners shared the Bellringer Award presented March 31 by the San Francisco Advertising Club.

Goodby, the winner for the past five years, was honored for its American Isuzu Motors work; Riney won for Saturn Corp. ads. The prize goes to the shop winning the most awards at the club's San Francisco Show. It was the first time the honor was split between two agencies in the club's history.

The Howard Gossage Award for copywriting excellence went to VP-Group Creative Director Sam Pond of Hoffman/Lewis for the Spectrum Foods/Prego restaurant radio campaign, which also won Best of Show. The Marget Larsen Award for Art Direction went to Senior Art Director Steve Luker of Goodby for Norwegian Cruise Line.

The Don Ashley Award, honoring an individual who has significantly contributed to ensuring an environment where great advertising can be created, went to Goodby's Tom Hollerback, account executive on the Unum Corp. business.

This year's show drew nearly 1,300 entries-18 received gold awards; 75, silver; and 182, bronze.
