Grand Metropolitan PLC tapped Y&R Advertising, New York, to handle print buying for its International Distillers & Vintners North America and Pillsbury Co. The buying assignment begins immediately. Y&R takes over all International Distillers print planning in 1998. Pillsbury planning will stay with its current brand agencies because Y&R performs the same function for Kraft Foods, a competitor. McCann-Erickson Worldwide, New York, previously did print negotiating for both. GrandMet spent $54.5 million on print advertising in 1996, according to Competitive Media Reporting.
