Greenfield Online completes buyout

The executives of online market research company Greenfield Online have completed a buyout from owner Andrew Greenfield, who founded the company in 1994.

Mr. Greenfield continues to own market researcher Greenfield Consulting Group. Greenfield Online President-CEO Rudy Nadilo led the buyout, along with a group of investors including InSight Capital Partners; Forrester Research; Burt Manning, former chairman and CEO of J. Walter Thompson USA; Stephen Friedman, former chairman of Goldman, Sachs & Co.; UBS Capital; and Wexford Management.While the price of the buyout was not disclosed, Greenfield Online said it has 55 employees with offices in Westport, Conn., and San Francisco. The company, whose clients include Procter & Gamble Co., Microsoft Corp. and U S West, projected its revenue for 1999 to hit more $10 million. Mr. Nadilo said Greenfield Online expects it will go public within the next nine to 18 months.
