Grey Direct acquires database marketing shop

Direct marketing agency Grey Direct, an independent company of Grey Advertising, New York, has acquired MarketData Solutions, a database marketing company. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Grey Direct will combine its unit Grey Database Strategies with MarketData Solutions to form one independent database marketing company under the MarketData Solutions name. The new company launches with $25 million in billings with clients including Chase Manhattan Bank, Liberty Mutual Insurance and Glaxo-Wellcome Pharmaceuticals. Ken Lomasney, 45, president-worldwide of MarketData Solutions, will retain the same title and head the new company.
