GREY EXPANDS CREATIVE DEPT. WITH 2 EXECS

In a continuing effort to bolster its creative reputation under Exec VP-Chief Creative Officer Stephen Novick, Grey Advertising, New York, is adding to its creative department again.

David Cohen and Richard Soloman both take the title of VP-group creative director.

Mr. Cohen, 43, previously VP-associate creative director at Bates USA, New York, will have a major role in creating advertising for over-the-counter and prescription pharmaceutical products.

Mr. Soloman, 43, was formerly executive creative director at Griffin Bacal, New York, and will work with Grey's children-oriented clients.

The addition of Messrs. Cohen and Soloman follows a creative push by Mr. Novick, who described the agency's previous creative reputation as "serviceable" but "lacking a certain amount of creative flash and style."

Under Mr. Novick, Grey has bulked up and diversified its creative staff. In 1996
