Grey posts billings gain

Grey Advertising, New York, reported first-quarter gross billings of $1.26 billion, up 8.6% from a year ago. Income from commissions and fees rose to $188.7 million, up 8.8%. Net income was $4.6 million, off 27% from last year when results were affected by sale of an interest in a subsidiary.
