A new group is being formed to serve companies that sell ads and conduct commerce on local Internet sites. The group, the Internet Local Advertising and Commerce Association, holds its organizational meeting on March 19 in St. Louis. Founding members include executives from BigBook, Pacific Bell Interactive Media, Times Mirror Co. and Digital City. Among the group's goals are to develop standards and measurement systems to ensure the success of local advertising on the Internet.
