Group seeks presidential debate--in print

The Committee for More Informative Presidential Debates is asking the top 100 newspapers and magazines in the U.S. to hold a national print debate for the major 1996 presidential candidates. It would be in the form of a four-to-eight-page magazine-size insert and distributed with the publications each week between Labor Day and the November presidential election. Costs could be donated by the media or underwritten by corporate sponsors, the San Francisco-based organization suggested.
