Mary Mitchell this summer was promoted to senior VP-managing director and asked to lead FCB Direct's San Francisco operation, coming from FCB Direct's New York office.

"We've seen explosive growth in New York," Ms. Mitchell says, adding she would employ the same strategy for San Francisco. It's "the idea that you make database marketing completely central to everything you're doing and couple it with award-winning creative." Her charge is "to triple the size of this office in the next two years."
