GTE breaks first ads from O&M

GTE Corp., Stamford, Conn., on Jan. 7 launches its first corporate campaign from Ogilvy & Mather, New York, almost a year after O&M won the estimated $80 million account from DDB Needham Worldwide's Focus GTE unit. Print ads break first in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Financial Times and Barron's and in major regional newspapers. TV follows later this quarter, with magazine ads after that. The tagline is "People moving ideas." Spending was not disclosed.
