GTE campaign touts telecom 'test drive'

GTE Corp., Stamford, Conn., this week begins a campaign inviting customers to try out one of its 15 different calling services, such as Call Waiting and Caller ID, for a 99 cents one-month trial. Called "Look to GTE Now," the campaign created by Temerlin McClain, Irving, Texas, for the GTE Network Services division features the voice of actor Don Adams, aka Maxwell Smart and the TV voice of Inspector Gadget. The TV, radio, print, outdoor and direct mail ads will run for two months.
