Guinness names U.K. boss for global post

In its efforts to bolster its pre-packaged spirits division, Diageo-owned Guinness UDV has promoted Gary Haigh, former marketing director for Guinness Great Britain, to the new post of global director for ready-to-drink (RTD) products.

RTD brands include Smirnoff Ice, Smirnoff Mule, Gordon's Space and Stolly Lemon Ruski.

Mr. Haigh joined Diageo in May 1998 as global marketing director for Guinness' portfolio brands, from Pizza Hut U.K., where he was board marketing director. Prior to that, Mr. Haigh held several international marketing positions at PepsiCo.
